Properties: White or yellowish crystal. Easily soluble in water. Aqueous solution appears acid. Insoluble in alcohol, acetone and ammonia. Easily deliquescent and volatilized in the air. Slight odor of ammonia.
Uses: Used as materials for producing hydrogen peroxide, ammonia alum and ammonium chloride in chemical industry; flux in jointing industry; fireproof agent in textile industry; additive of plating bath in plating industry; nitrogenous in agricultural industry. Food-grade products are used as dough regulators and yeast nutrition. Applicable to common soil and crops, not only used directly, but also used as water soluble fertilizer.
Storage: As with most solid fertilizers, Ammonium Sulphate can be stored over a season as long as it is kept in a cool, dry, well ventilated area.
